After Kyle Cameron also went close, the Gulls stretched their lead only two minutes later. I am extremely thankful and honored that she will be able to come up to MN to stand by me as I start this new part of my life. Trustworthy and you can tell him anything!

St Andrews Ladies through to the next round

With on-loan midfielder Jake Andrews outstanding, the Gulls dominated the Linnets even more completely than they had done at Hungerford Town in the National League South seven days before. United broke through with two goals in the space of two minutes midway through the first half - a Lewis Braily own-goal and one by Jamie Reid. Ruairi Keating and Chris Regis hit the net with shots in the 56th and 59 minutes, substitute Brett Williams then broke his scoring duck for the season with a tap-in and a 25-yard effort before Andrews crowned his classy afternoon from a pass by new loan signing Saikou Janneh in the last minute. United also hit the bar three times, and only Lymington goalie Nic Jones stood between Torquay and a double-figure score. Portsmouth had withdrawn United's loanee goalkeeper Alex Bass because they did not want him cup-tied, so Shaun MacDonald came back in for his fifth appearance of the season. The substitute goalie was early-season United trialist George Burton - his Lydney team had lost to Lymington in the last round, but he did not play for them then. Johnson made one other change by choice - he slotted new signing Sendles-White straight into the back-four, with George Essuman dropping to the bench. United opened with a Ruairi Keating volley over the bar, but in the fifth minute the Gulls nearly handed Lymington the sort of chance that might have been embarrassing. Sendles-White hit a back pass to MacDonald, who delayed his clearance for a moment and then hit the ball against Sam House, the ball rebounding to safety instead of into the net. The Linnets did have one other moment in the first half, when left winger Mike Gosney drifted instead, made room for a shot and tested MacDonald from 25 yards. Apart from that, it was all Torquay. Opi Edwards on the right and Andrews on the left kept stretching the Town defence to its limit and beyond, and midfielders Asa Hall and Chris Regis were always eager to join strikers Keating and Reid in the penalty area. Regis forced a reaction save from Nic Jones after an Andrews-Edwards move, Keating's follow-up deflected wide, before Hall headed wide on an Andrews corner. Hall flashed another header over after Andrews had found Edwards on the right with a quality free-kick. Reid was going clear on an Andrews through-ball when he was clipped by Lymington captain Tim Stephenson - it was a obvious free-kick, but referee Stephen Hughes did not brandish even a yellow card. Jones did well to tip Keating's near-post header wide from another Davis cross, then Hall headed onto the bar and over from an Andrews corner. Jones dived to tip away an Edwards cross, which took a deflection off Stephenson, before United's relentless pressure finally told in the 36th minute. It was yet another Andrews pass which helped Reid set up Wynter on the right, and his cross-shot was deflected past Jones by Town left-back Braily. After Kyle Cameron also went close, the Gulls stretched their lead only two minutes later. A raking crossfield pass by Andrews put Edwards in on the right and, as Jones advanced to meet him, he rolled a pass across the goalmouth for Reid to force home his third goal of the season from five yards. Andrews had a delightful cross-shot tipped over the angle of post and bar by Jones as United continued to batter away at the home goal. The traffic continued one-way in the second half. Town keeper Jones, comfortably their man of the match, made more excellent saves from Keating's near-post header, set up by Andrews, and a 30-yard drive by Andrews. He also tipped another Hall header over his bar and Andrews tried his luck from 50 yards, before the third goal came in the 56th minute. Keating and Reid combined down the left to set Andrews away and his cross was finished with Keating's right-foot volley from six yards. Three minutes later it was 4-0. Jones made a big mistake this time, dashing off his line, being beaten by Reid, who set up Andrews for a cross and Regis found the net with a cushion-volley for his first goal for the Gulls. And, after heading against the bar from a Davis cross, Williams helped himself to his first goals of the season. In the 79th minute he forced in a low cross by Wynter from close-range, and four minutes later he hit a screamer of a low left-foot drive from 25 yards which not even Jones could touch. In the last minute Andrews was finally rewarded for his brilliant performance when he took a pass from Janneh, turned and clipped a left-foot shot into the right-hand corner… 7-0 to United and a place in Monday's draw emphatically confirmed.
